About the program

GSBI Accelerator LogoMiller Center for Social Entrepreneurship, in partnership with  Smart Power Myanmar and supported by Chevron, has launched the Mini-Grid Accelerator program for Myanmar. The Mini-Grid Accelerator is designed to support mini-grid developers who are seeking to expand energy access in rural and off-grid communities throughout the country. This world-class accelerator program provides practical tools, proven curriculum, and executive mentorship to help entrepreneurs develop more sustainable and scalable solutions.

“Our partnership with Miller Center, with Chevron’s support, enables us to help build Myanmar’s investible energy companies of the future, and thereby accelerate the spread of decentralized renewable energy solutions, thus transforming the long-term economic potential of millions of people”

Richard Harrison, CEO of Smart Power Myanmar

Unlike other accelerators, this 5-month program connects social enterprise leaders with experienced business executives from Silicon Valley and South East Asia, who provide extensive mentorship and accompany entrepreneurs throughout their entire journey.  Together, we are fully committed to helping social entrepreneurs bring reliable, efficient, and sustainable energy to the communities they serve.

The 5-month Mini-Grid Accelerator kicked off on June 17, 2020.
