After the success of last year’s Women’s Economic Empowerment accelerator program, I am pleased to share our second cohort of social entrepreneurs supporting women as social enterprise leaders, staff, value chain suppliers, and customers.

We are welcoming an impressive cohort of 11 organizations, all of which are women-led and locally-led enterprises. These organizations are nonprofit, for-profit, or hybrid businesses and, on average, have been in operation for 4-5 years. They are based in 7 different countries and create impact in over 11 throughout Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Out of the 11, 10 of the entrepreneurs either founded or co-founded their organizations.

We launched the cohort at the end of January and for the past month, the entrepreneurs have been busy getting acquainted with our curriculum and meeting with their mentors and leadership coaches.

In addition to weekly meetings with their mentors, program participants meet once a month on topic-based webinars. So far, I am hearing a lot of excitement about the opportunity to delve deeper into their business models, improve impact measurement tactics and reporting, and have a community of peers to do it all with.

Miller Center is excited to announce our newest group of social entrepreneurs who are creating models of success and addressing women’s economic empowerment in their missions to provide a pathway out of poverty for the communities they support. Read more about each enterprise below.
